There will be an air bubble that gets trapped in the upper section of the heater when water is not circulating, and this will reduce the capacity of the radiator to heat up. High Pressure Bleed Valves allow gas turbines with an automated method to bleed off excess air created during high-speed startup or quickly closing the compressor. A compressor bleed valve will bleed off excess air created by the gas turbine and compressor from one or multiple gas turbines and compressor(s). A hydraulic bleed valve allows only the unwanted/excessive amount of air to be bled from the hydraulic system of a gas turbine. A boiler bleed valve is used in different types of water heaters to eliminate excess pressure so that the heaters do not explode. Water bleed valves are also necessary for efficient operation and function of water heaters, and boilers. These air bleed valves are available for hot water heating applications in both manual and automatic operation. The bleed plug is used to close off the valve until the pressure in the system has dropped below an acceptable level. The pilot control valves that are available for the bleed pilot control valve are controlled by a multi-function valve, called the pneumatic bleed valve.

This article discusses the operation of bleed valves on gas turbine engines. The position of the bleed valve is automatically controlled by the pressure inside a compressor. Under low pressure conditions, the bleed valve will open while the compressor is still running. As soon as the pressure in the compressor reaches a certain level, the bleed valve will close automatically. Once the gas turbine has reached a steady state condition, the bleed valve should be open.

Bleed valves are also known as "bleeder valves" because they allow the system to be bled of ice when the water in the system is at a temperature less than the freezing point. Bleed valves allow the system to refill with warmer supply water. Once the temperature of the water in the system has reached the freezing point, the bleeder valve will close and the supply water can no longer be added to the system. The closing of the bleeder valve prevents ice from forming inside the piping and causing damage to the system.

Drain valves are typically valves that open or release at a specific temperature. Drain valves will remain open until the entire system has been drained. Once the system has been drained, the drain valve can either be manually closed or reset to allow the system to refill again.
